Japan: Romantic Train

A group of us went to Kyoto to see the sakura. We caught the Sagano Sight-seeing Tram (also known as Torokko) and made our way along Hozu River. Unfortunately, there wasn't as many sakura as expected around the river gorge. On the tram, a guy dressed up as an oni found out we were Australian, and then proceeded to talk about "Shark Norman".

After Torokko, we went back via boat, shooting the Hozu River rapids. Actually, the rapids weren't so rapid, but it was a 1:30-hour relaxing boat ride. A snack/drink boat pulled up alongside us towards the end of the trip and we bought some beer and dango.

After lunch, I had some tofu ice-cream. It was not bad.
